Wellbeing

This term, our Wellbeing focus is Positive Gender Relations in a safe and inclusive environment. We will work on building positive gender relationships within our classrooms. Students will participate in activities to help challenge stereotypes, to value and show respect for diversity and difference, and understand how power relations can inform gender relationships. They learn how to apply these attitudes within positive gender relationships. We will delve into positive psychology and strengths-based approaches, as we integrate tasks from the Respectful Relationships Program and Visible Wellbeing.

Further information about Respectful Relationships education can be found at:  https://www.vic.gov.au/respectful-relationships

Our Visible Wellbeing focus for Term 3 will be Attention & Awareness. Students will learn to mindfully direct their focus to both internal and external experiences and pay attention to these stimuli. Students will understand that the effect that being able to consciously direct their attention can have on their wellbeing. These skills will be consolidated through explicit teaching of these skills, and the incorporation of brain breaks into classroom activities.
