Principal's message

St George Performing Arts Festival (SPAF)

I had the greatest pleasure of attending SPAF last Tuesday. Our school was represented by our choir, led by Mrs Krivacic and our K-2 and Senior Dance Groups led by Ms Kostoglu and Ms McEvoy. Our students shined as they performed on stage at the The Pavillion, Sutherland Entertainment Centre.

Thank you to all the families who supported our students with your attendance during the matinee and evening performances.

Public Speaking Finals

Congratulations to the all students across K-6 for their efforts this term in preparing for the Public Speaking competition. I know teachers found it difficult to select the students from each class to move through to the Stage Finals. Our Stage Finals were held in our school hall last night. Thank you to Mrs Lawson and Ms Bray who attended the evening to adjudicate.

Congratulations to the following students:

  • Kindergarten Champion - Felicity KS
  • Kindergarten Highly Commended - Harla KM
  • Stage 1 Champion - Aaliyah 1K
  • Stage 1 Highly Commended - Lucas 2P

Multicultural Day & Year 6 Cake Stall

The school will be hosting a Multicultural Day on Wednesday 25th September in conjunction with the Year 6 Cake Stall Fundraiser. This is an initiative from our Equity Team of staff.

Students will be encouraged to wear clothing representing their heritage or colours of the flag that represents their heritage. An assembly with performances representing a variety of cultures within our school will perform under the COLA at 10:00am. Families are invited to attend the assembly and stay for a picnic lunch.

Year 6 will be running a Cake Stall fundraiser for the Year 6 Farewell during the lunch break.

More information will be sent home soon.

Election - Saturday 14th September

Our P&C are hosting a cake stall and BBQ during the elections tomorrow. If you are available to spare some time to assist with the selling, please be sure to see the volunteers and offer your time.

Thank you to the many families who have donated cakes or volunteered their time to support the P&C Fundraiser at the school tomorrow.
