From The Principal

PRINCIPALS MESSAGE

Dear parents and carers,

I hope you enjoyed the mid-week break with the Geelong Cup Holiday. Unfortunately the weather was winter like for this time of year.

Art Show

We are hosting our first onsite Art Show after school on Wednesday 29th November. We will be showcasing student art work created across this year with our Visual Arts teacher Mara Howlett. See flyer in this newsletter.

Staffing Update

We continue to experience staff turnover and change at this late stage of the year. Zola Lawry, our Speech Therapist, relocated interstate at the end of week one this term whilst our new PE teacher Andrew Hair also left on the same day to take up a community sport oppportunity. Jacqueline Robinson will also be finishing her teaching contract today to pursue another pathway.  We wish them all well for their future and thank them for their contribution to Hamlyn Views School. For the remainder of the year we have made internal arrangements to support the ongoing delivery of programs and classes.

We continue an extensive recruitment program in readiness for next year and have recently provisionally appointed Philip Davey as Business Manager for 2024, whilst Carolyn Haskett is on a year's leave. Sharon Miguel has also been provisionally appointed as a Leading Teacher (Leadership & Management). Andrew Watkins has been reappointed as a classroom teacher. Congratulations to them all.

World Teachers' Day

Today World Teachers' Day is being celebrated across Australia. Wishing all our fabulous teachers a day filled with appreciation and admiration. A big thank-you for your care, support and commitment to our students.
