Year 5 News

This term, Year 5 students have done many great things such as the space expo. We are also looking forward to some exciting events like the soccer gala day, School fun run, and creating a new product people want or need.

Year 5 students have had the space expo where we had the opportunity to make a project on a space related topic that comes with a poster as well, such as maybe a planet, the sun, other planet’s moons, and much more. They got to show off their projects to students in other Year levels, such as Year 4 and Year 6.

The soccer gala day is coming up and Year 5 students are training to be on the year 5 soccer team. The team is split between boys and girls and there are only 12 spots on the squad. Everyone is determined to be on the team which makes it even more fun as the Year 5’s want to win every game they play. The Year 5’s are playing for fun and there’s no actual competition between teams.

The school fun run is coming up on the 17th of November where kids in grades prep - 6 work together to raise money for our school. Kids get sponsored by family and friends and earn donations by running around the oval while getting paint thrown all over them.

Year 5 students also have their inquiry project coming up in which they have to create a brand new product that people need or want. They have to make sure their materials are sustainable and environmentally friendly. Our products try to make other people feel satisfied and help people in our society needing help with normal life problems and how we can fix them.

Thank you for reading about what’s happening in Year 5. We are looking forward to having an awesome last term.

Sincerely, Xavier and Geelong, Year 5.
