This term will will continue our RESILIENCE RIGHTS & RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS program each week. A focus this term will practicing and using help seeking behaviours. Children can experience all kinds of challenges as they grow and develop. The help-seeking behaviours of children are fundamental to their mental health and wellbeing. Encouraging and fostering help-seeking behaviours is one way to improve mental health and wellbeing. It is important to work with students to make sure they are aware about help-seeking avenues and are confident to seek help from an appropriate source when needed.
This term we continue our Sexuality education program 'About Real Life" begins as part of a broader curriculum aimed at maximising children’s health and wellbeing. Sexuality and consent education are part of the Victorian Curriculum, mandated for Government and Catholic schools in Victoria.
PREP TO YEAR 2 (Week 7)
Topics include – People, Similarities & Differences, Bodies, Privacy & Safety
YEARS 3-4 (Week 7-8)- Grade 3 and 4 will have lessons separately
Topics include – Families & Friendships, Difference & Diversity, Bodies, Starting to Change, Privacy & Safety
YEARS 5-6 (Week 7, 8 and 9) -Grade 5 and 6 will have lessons separately
Topics Include – Puberty – Physical, Emotional/Social, Reproduction, Privacy & Safety in the real and online world
