Roof Replacement and Building Works

We are very excited to near the completion of Pilgrim School's roof replacement and building works. Students and staff have been very excited to return to their own classroom spaces over the last couple of weeks.

We are thankful for the new roof that looks great and has none of the cracked tiles and leaks we had previously experienced with each rain!

At the same time as the roof replacement, building works have created a new staffroom which is big enough for our entire staff team. This has been a very welcomed addition as a space for staff to relax during their breaks and connect with each other for devotions, planning, breaks and celebrations. Even over this last week, we have recognised the benefits of such a space for our staff team.

Additional office spaces have also been developed in this process and finishing touches will be made over the holidays so that all spaces should be fully operational from the beginning of next term.

We appreciate the patience of all of our families, students and staff over this process. We are also thankful to our local Member, Erin Thompson, and the Minister for Education, Blair Boyer, for their assistance in supporting our request for a roof replacement.

If you have not been onsite recently, please come and see how our roof and new spaces look!

2024 Class Placement Considerations

Families in Foundation to Year 5 should have received an email regarding class placement considerations earlier this week:

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Our teaching staff and Diverse Learning team have continued to gain a deeper understanding of the strengths, needs and areas for growth for all children in the Pilgrim community during 2023. Early next term, the staff team will begin the process of placing children in their respective classes for 2024. During this process, our team will discern the best placement for each child as they consider the combination of students to facilitate quality learning in each class.

You are welcome to communicate any specific social, emotional or academic needs that you believe are key to share with the staff team as they collaboratively work on class placements. If you would like to provide information, please complete this 2024 Class Placement Considerations form by Friday 20th October (end of Week 1 next term). All staff responsible for the placement of children will be able to access this information. We appreciate that families will not utilise this to communicate the requests of specific teachers.

A reminder too that families need to use this Withdrawal form to advise the school by the end of today of any student not in Year 6 this year who will not be enrolled at Pilgrim School for 2024.

Kind regards,

Andrew Edmondson

Medication Plan Changes

We have introduced a change to our Medication Plans which we hope will make things a little easier for families going forward. There are now two versions of our Medication Plan forms:

  1. For Prescription Medication - this is essentially the same as our original Medication Form which requires a doctor to complete the information for all medications that are prescribed by a doctor.
  2. For Over the Counter Medication - this is a new form that can be completed by a Pharmacist for medications that do not require a prescription, eg. some pain killers, hayfever tablets, special creams and ointments.

Belong & Blossom Playgroup Registration

Operation Christmas Child

Thank you for all of your generous donations of items and monetary donations toward the postage of our shoeboxes this year. Our SRC leaders have very diligently packed the shoeboxes ready to be shipped off overseas. We look forward to following their progress over the next few months. Please pray for these, and all of the many boxes packed around our state and country, that they will be a blessing to the children and families that receive them, and that the recipients will know God’s love.
