Year 12 Final Day – House Competition
We were blessed with great weather to farewell our Year 12s on the Year 12 Final Day held on Tuesday 17 October, especially after a few days of rain. As is our tradition at Oxley, Year 12 Final Day is celebrated with a concert, followed by a day of House competitions in basketball, table tennis and soccer. There was a great carnival atmosphere with the rides close to the Stadium. The House Competition started after the students watched great performances from our teachers during the Year 12 concert, that was also attended by Junior School students.
Year 7-9 students started the day outside with the soccer competition and allocated time on the rides, while Year 10-12 students played basketball and table tennis inside. After a short lunch break, the groups swapped over before gathering to watch the anticipated Year 11 versus Year 12 basketball match, won by the Year 11s this year.
The competition between the Houses was extremely close in the Year 12 Final Day Competition, with all three Houses ending up with a total of 144 points in the basketball competition. In soccer, Zion Crusaders (Blue House) won by 18 points and table tennis was won by Tabor Trojans (White House). It was very close competition between Blue House and White House throughout the day, but it was Blue House that was crowned winners at the end of the competition, with a 5-point win over White House, with Red House finishing in third position.
The results for the day were as follows:
BASKETBALL | TABLE TENNIS | SOCCER | |||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1st | Zion Crusaders (Blue) 144 points | 1st | Tabor Trojans (White) 131 points | 1st
| Zion Crusaders (Blue) 159 points |

3rd | Gibeon Warriors (Red) 144 points | 3rd
| Gibeon Warriors (Red) 109 points | 3rd | Gibeon Warriors (Red) 132 points |
Overall points:
FIRST | SECOND | THIRD |
---|---|---|
Zion Crusaders (Blue) 421 points | Tabor Trojans (White) 416 points | Gibeon Warriors (Red) 385 points |
Congratulations to all students who competed for their House and for your outstanding behavior throughout the day. A big thank you to all the staff and students who assisted with scoring, umpiring and other jobs throughout the day. The combined efforts of everyone made this a most enjoyable and successful day.
Lastly, I wish all the Year 12 students God’s greatest blessings as they undertake their examinations in the coming weeks.
