Australian Mathematics Competition

In the exciting realm of Mathematics, Oxley students showcased their prowess in the annual Australian Mathematics Competition during Term 3. We are thrilled to share the outstanding news that 37 Oxley students earned a well-deserved Distinction, while two students soared to High Distinction, marking a commendable achievement.

Our dedicated Maths Captains, Ruby Warburton and Christopher John, took the honour of presenting certificates to these mathematically inclined students at our recent Maths Assembly on Monday 2 October. The assembly was a celebration of not just numbers and formulas, but of hard work, dedication, and intellectual excellence.

We would like to highlight two exceptional students who stood out in their respective divisions:

  • Victor T (7.4) – High Distinction in the Junior Division (Years 7-8)
  • Misty C (10.2) – High Distinction in the Intermediate Division (Years 9-10)

In a remarkable feat, Victor T clinched the title of Best in School based on the standardized score – a testament to his exceptional mathematical abilities.

A heartfelt congratulations to all the students who participated in the competition! Your commitment to the world of numbers and problem-solving is truly commendable. May your passion for mathematics continue to grow, and may you inspire others with your mathematical journeys. Well done!
