This is what our students have been up to this week
Our Year 6 students have been keen to reconnect with their buddy over the last week, since returning to school. They planned and set up 4 rotations (activity stations), which included Guided Drawing, Mask Making, Shoe Wars and Tag A Duck. Each group will have an opportunity to participate in each activity over the next few buddy sessions.
Last Friday afternoon our school was extremly fortunate to have Costa Georgiadis aka 'Costa The Garden Gnome' visit us. He was very generious with his time, talking to the students about sustainability, ecosystems, and projects he is championing such as The Great Backyard Bird Count and Water Night.
He graciously spent time with some of our teaching staff giving advice on our up coming garden works. It was a treat to be able to utilise his extensive knowledge to help us plan.
Costa gifted our school a signed copy of his booked that was featured at the Mount Beauty Writers Festival. This will be cherished by us and will be avaliable in school library to look out.
The prep/1 and 1/2 students are learning "L'arraignee Gipsy" in French (the Incy Wincy Spider). With a bit of help from their 5/6 buddies, they will make their own pompom Gipsy.
The 2/3 students are learning "Un elephant" and will be creating some crafty items to support their comprehension of the song.
The Year 4 students will be researching well-known French landmarks while the 5/6 students look at all things French including recipes, sports and peope
