It sure looks like it is going to be another busy term, one that is over before we know it! Where did the first 2 weeks of the term go? There has been quite a bit on this week too. Mr Holmfield went to Bendigo earlier in the week accompanying some of our ‘athletes’ who were representing our school at Regional Athletics. Well done to all who completed and a big congratulations to Chance, who qualified to State in ShotPut.
Wednesday, I had the pleasure in tagging along with the Prep students on their Police Station Excursion. It was packed with excitement and was wonderful to see how the police help us in so many ways. Later that day, I headed over to 208 to welcome back our Somers Camp kids. 9 days of camping and being away from family was certainly the cause of the dynamic hugs that the parents were greeted with once off the bus! By all accounts, they had a fantastic and very memorable time!
Just another reminder that “No Hat No Play” operates throughout term 4. All students must wear a school broad-rimmed hat when playing outside, whenever they are participating in outside class activities, including sports/PE sessions. Hats are even required on cloudy days, as the UV levels are well on the rise whether the sun is shining or not. For best sun protection, use the 5 step SunSmart steps:
Again, this week’s weather has been quite inconsistent, from one extreme to another. Just another reminder that our Rugby Jumpers are now available at Hip Pocket if you do want to get in early, but please make sure you pop your child’s name of it, so it can be returned quickly, if left out in the yard.
It is also getting closer to the time where we are busy setting up for our 2024 classes. So if you would like to discuss if your child has any educational needs we should be considering when forming our grades, please make an appointment with either Ben Hawthorn or myself by Friday the 27th of October (end of week 4).
These appointments can either be via phone or in person.
Creating the grades is a very complex process and we try very hard to balance our classrooms to ensure ‘fairness’ for all, so once the classes have been set, no changes can be made. It is important that we get it right the first time.
A final reminder for this week, if your child/ren are riding to school (scooter, bike, skateboard etc), PLEASE ensure that they are wearing a helmet. This is for their own safety!
On that note, wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
