Prep

Buddy activities

We love having buddy time between the Grade 6s and the preps. We do fun craft activities, sport games and respectful relationship lessons that make it so interesting across the age gap. The Grade 6s are so kind, patient and nurturing to us and we love hanging out with them. The preps loved the St Augustine fun day run by their buddies, learning the ropes of what leadership will look like in a few years time. We also had fun playing some teamwork and cooperation icebreaker games on the senior yard all together.

Stick Insects

A few weeks ago, Quin kindly bought in his pet stick insects for us to hold and look at. We wrote all kinds of descriptive sentences about how they made us feel and what they looked like. There was lots of squeals and giggles in the classroom but we tried our best to be quiet for the small visitors. Thankyou Quin for sharing all of your knowledge about Bluey the stick insect!!!

3/4 excursion to Yarraville Village

In Maths, the 3/4 students have been looking at money, so on Tuesday last week they went on an excursion to Yarraville Village. The students used their knowledge and skills about money to make some purchases. The students browsed the prices of fruit at Prestige Fruit and Vegetables and made a purchase. The students then used their remaining money to buy another snack from another shop, including Alfa, Grill'd, Under the Sea Fish and Chips and Souvlaki GR. The students then ate their purchases in the Yarraville Village Pop-Up Park.

Italian Prep-Yr6

Another successful term: Preps have been learning numbers, colours, days of the week through storytime, songs, games and online tasks.

Year 1/2 students have been little mathematicians  completing maths tasks in Italian!!  Online maths tasks and completing equations all written in Italian.

Year 3/4 students have been working on their monster creative projects.  Writing descriptive pieces and now onto making their monster.

Year 5/6 students have been working and completed their amazing stop motion projects.  The stop motions have been sent out to the Dante Alighieri committee to share and promote our school in the wider community.   5/6 students have also been working on reading comprehension tasks, dictations, grammar rules as a transition into year 7 language class.
