Our Father in Heaven,

Look over and bless St. Augustine’s while we are working and playing.

Help us to respect and care for each other as you taught us to.

Give us the opportunity to do our best for you each day.

We look forward to being able to share our lives with our friends and families.

Keep us safe and give us the courage to be

people who want to know you more.                    Amen.

        Prayer for the Week     

A Prayer For Spring Time

God, 

Thank you for Spring and the hope of warmer, longer, brighter days. 

Thank you for the coming of growth and life and birth. 

Thank you that things are coming awake in the world. 

This is what our calendar says, and we do see some signs that it is real.

Amen.

A Prayer Before Watching a Football Game

Strong, swift, and victorious God, 

Thank you for the gifts of the human body, friendly competition, and unlikely comebacks. Please protect the players on the field, and help me not to turn into a jerk because of the outcome of this game. 

As I consider the forces that stand between me and the good life you offer, give me the blessing that is your nearness.

 As we wrestle through our weaknesses, break what must be broken and heal what must be healed. 

Remind me also of your presence even in the height of excitement. 

And, if edifying for my ego, allow my team to sweep the floor with their opponents. 

Amen.
