Principal's Message

Harmony Day

What a wonderful way to celebrate the rich diversity of our MPRPS community!

Students across the school proudly wore their cultural dress or the colour orange, waved flags representing their heritage during our parade, and came together to celebrate the many cultures that make our school so special. One of the highlights was our Foundation students' heartfelt performance of Better Together, which perfectly captured the spirit and message of Harmony Day.

A special congratulations to our School Leaders, who did an outstanding job hosting the parade and sharing some fascinating facts about our school community. Did you know that students at MPRPS speak 26 different languages at home, and that 227 of our students have parents who were born overseas, representing more than 40 different countries? These statistics are a wonderful reminder of the diverse and inclusive community we are fortunate to be part of.

Guided Inquiry Showcase

I was also fortunate to attend both our Foundation and Year 5/6 Guided Inquiry Showcases this week. It was fantastic to see students proudly sharing the projects they have been working on and demonstrating their learning in such meaningful and creative ways.

These inquiry projects provide students with opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills, think critically, and communicate their learning to others. I particularly enjoyed reading the Year 5/6 students' historical diary entries, where they wrote from the perspective of someone living in another era. Their creativity and understanding of historical perspectives were impressive.

One unexpected lesson for me was discovering that according to some of our students, the 1980s are now considered 'the olden days!' I was a little surprised to hear that! It certainly provided a light-hearted reminder of how perspectives change across generations.

Thank you to all of our students and staff for the enthusiasm, creativity and pride they brought to these learning celebrations. They are a wonderful reflection of the engaging learning taking place every day at MPRPS.

Semester Reports and Three Way Conferences

Semester One Reports are now available on Compass through your child's profile. To access the report, click on your child's profile (under their photograph) and select the Reports tab. We encourage all families to download and save a copy of their child's report for future reference.

The report should be read in conjunction with your child's Digital Portfolio on Seesaw, as together they provide a comprehensive picture of your child's learning and progress throughout the semester.

Bookings are also now open for our Three-Way Conferences. Parents and carers are invited to book a 10-minute meeting with their child's classroom teacher. These conferences are a valuable opportunity to celebrate your child's achievements, discuss their progress, and work together to set goals for the remainder of the year
