Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

Welcome back to you all. Third term already and half way through winter today!

The last two days of Term 2 were amazingly busy but so important in providing a well rounded education for your children. Thursday night of course was our brilliant dance concert and Omar certainly had the students very well practised. The Friday was an amazing day with a beautiful whole school mass, the cooking and eating of some of our pumpkins grown in our garden and of course many students also wanted to watch the World Cup soccer game between Australia and Paraguay. With a bit of shuffling of play times and spaces we allowed all that wanted to watch the opportunity to do so. Thank you staff for being so flexible.

This Saturday the last of our students  celebrates her First Eucharist. May this be a blessed time for all who have received the body and blood of Christ for the first time. I thank staff that have been able to attend these special masses to support our students.

This week our school soccer team were at Seaford Park PS and played a round robin contest against Seaford Park PS, Kananook PS and Aldercourt PS. The team played very well under the coaching of two of our dads, Wes O'Connor and Troy Hibberd, and finished second overall to Kananook PS who we had drawn with in the game between us.

Yesterday our Year 1/ 2 classes enjoyed an excursion to The Briars in Mt Martha. I am sure this was an enjoyable experience for all and that it supports future learning for the term. My thanks to the staff who organised this and the many parents who offered to attend the activity.

Friday we have our Crazy Sock Day where we will be collecting funds to support indigenous literacy. We will leave our Opening School Mass of the term to the following week when we will be celebrating Grandparents Day on Friday 24th July.  Grandparents Day is placed as close as possible to the Feast Day of St Anne and St Joachim, the Patron Saints of our two parish schools and the grandparents of Jesus.

Next Thursday our school football team has won their way through to represent the Seaford zone at the Northern Peninsula AFL competition. I am sure they will play some good football again under the coaching of another one of our dads, Ben Cadd.

School Parent- Teacher interviews will be held between 3.40 and 6pm on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th of July. These will be opened up to parents to select your spot on Monday 20th July with details of how to do so provided on Seesaw.

A date for your diaries is Saturday 1st August when our Parents and Friends will be holding our Trivia Night Fundraiser. We look forward to this being both a fun and successful night for the school.

We certainly don't ease into a term at St Anne's and again a look forward to this term being full of joyful learning experiences that grow the gifts and talents of all our students.

God Bless

Rod Shaw
