Principal's Message
Mr Beilken
As we approach the midpoint of the year, I continue to be incredibly proud of the achievements of our students, staff and wider school community. Every day at Marangaroo Primary School, our students demonstrate our values of Care, Learn and Thrive through their learning, their relationships and their contributions to school.
This term has provided many opportunities to celebrate success. Whether in the classroom, on the sporting field, through the arts or in leadership roles, our students continue to embrace challenges and strive for personal excellence. These achievements are only possible through the dedication of our staff and the strong partnerships we share with our families.
I would like to thank the many families who participated in our Reporting to Parents Day last week. The strong attendance throughout the day reflected the value our community places on education and the importance of the partnership between home and school. These conversations provide an excellent opportunity to celebrate student achievements, discuss progress and work together to support each child's continued growth and success.
I am pleased to share that Marangaroo Primary School has recently been selected to participate in the Department of Education's Centre for Excellence initiative. This exciting opportunity recognises the strong work already taking place across our school and will allow us to collaborate with other high-performing schools to further strengthen teaching, learning and leadership practices. Through this initiative, our staff will have access to additional professional learning, networking opportunities and evidence-based strategies that will ultimately benefit our students. We look forward to sharing more information with our community as this work progresses throughout the year.
Reporting to Parents
Semester 1 student reports will be released to families via email on Monday 29 June. As in previous years, reports will be accessed through a secure link included in the email. The report link will remain active for four weeks. Families are encouraged to download and save a copy of their child's report during this period, as access will expire after the four-week window. Keeping a copy of your child's reports is important, as they may be required when enrolling at another school in the future. This is particularly relevant for our Year 6 families, as many secondary schools request a copy of the most recent school reports as part of the enrolment process.
2027 Enrolments
Marangaroo Primary School is currently accepting Kindergarten enrolments for 2027. The official closing date for enrolment applications is Friday 24 July. Applications submitted after this date will still be accepted; however, if enrolment numbers exceed available places, priority will be given to applications received before the closing date.
If you, or someone you know, has a child turning four years of age before 30 June 2027, please visit the school office to collect an enrolment pack.
Families with children currently enrolled in Kindergarten at Marangaroo Primary School will receive a Pre-Primary enrolment pack on Monday 29 June to support enrolment for the 2027 school year.
Change of Previously communicated Assembly times
I would like to make the school community aware of two changes to previously advertised assembly dates.
The first change relates to the final assembly of this term, hosted by the Kangaroos classroom. This assembly was originally scheduled for Friday 26 June; however, as this date coincides with the Interschool Lightning Carnival, the assembly has been rescheduled to the last day of term, Friday 3 July.
The second change relates to the first assembly of next term, hosted by the Quokkas classroom. This assembly was originally scheduled for Friday 21 August but has been moved to Friday 28 August due to a clash with the One Big Voice excursion involving our school choir.
PEAC
All Year 4 students will take the PEAC test to determine their suitability for the PEAC program. A letter went home last week with all students in Year 4. Testing at Marangaroo Primary will occur on Monday 3 August.
What is PEAC?
The PEAC Program provides part-time extension and enrichment for exceptionally able students in Years 5 and 6. It offers courses designed to challenge students and develop their thinking skills.
Opt-out information:
If you do not wish for your child to participate in the PEAC testing process, please notify the school by emailing the office or contacting Administration by Friday 31 July
