Leader of Year 9 Wellbeing
Mr Peter Robertson
As we reach the end of the first semester, Year 9 has continued to make a positive impact on school life through leadership, academic achievement, sport, and community involvement. Throughout the year, students have consistently demonstrated responsibility, maturity, and a willingness to contribute to the college community.
Leadership is shown every day in the classroom, on the sporting field, and around the school grounds as students support their peers, set a positive example, and take pride in representing St Aloysius College. Year 9 has also achieved the highest attendance rate in the entire college, reflecting the cohort's commitment to learning and their determination to make the most of every opportunity available to them.
Academically, Year 9 students have continued to strive for excellence across all subject areas. Through hard work, dedication, and effective study habits, many students have achieved outstanding results and consistently challenged themselves to improve. A highlight of the semester has been the success of the 100% Club, recognising students who achieved perfect marks in assessment tasks and examinations. Students have also represented the college proudly in the SCS Debating Competition, demonstrating confidence, teamwork, critical thinking, and effective communication skills while competing against some of the strongest schools in the region. Across all learning areas, Year 9 students have embraced challenges, completed major assessments, participated in class discussions, and developed valuable skills that will support their future success.
Sport has also been a major part of the Year 9 experience this semester. Students participated in the Swimming, Cross Country, and Athletics Carnivals, representing their houses with determination and sportsmanship. Whether competing for age championships, or simply giving things a go, students consistently supported one another and contributed to the success of each event. Several students progressed to Zone in Swimming and Cross Country, while many others are preparing to compete in Athletics.
Beyond school carnivals, Year 9 students have also represented the college in a range of sporting and extracurricular activities, balancing their commitments while continuing to achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.
