Our sincere thanks to the many parents and carers who attended our Building Resilience at Home evening with Sam from The Resilience Project. It was a highly engaging and insightful session that deepened our shared understanding of how the GEM principles—Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness—can be woven into everyday family life.
Sam provided a powerful overview of the wellbeing curriculum our students experience at school, highlighting the importance of consistent routines, positive emotional language, and small daily practices that help young people recognise their strengths and manage challenges with confidence. Parents were invited to reflect on their own habits, explore practical strategies for home, and consider how small shifts in conversation and connection can make a meaningful difference to a child’s resilience.
We are incredibly grateful for the strong turnout and the thoughtful conversations that followed the presentation. Your partnership is central to the success of our wellbeing programs, and it is heartening to see such commitment to supporting the emotional growth of our young people. Together, we continue to build a community where students feel safe, supported and empowered to thrive both at school and at home.

As part of our continued commitment to supporting the wellbeing of every student and family, we encourage parents and carers to explore The Resilience Project Family Hub. This online space provides practical, easy‑to‑use resources designed to help families build positive mental health habits at home through the core GEM principles of Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness.
The Family Hub includes short videos, conversation starters, simple daily practices and activities that strengthen connection and emotional awareness. These tools mirror the language and strategies students are learning at school, helping to create a consistent approach between home and the classroom.
We invite all families to spend some time engaging with the platform and exploring the ideas that best support your household. By working together—students, staff and families—we continue to build a community where young people feel supported, resilient and ready to thrive.

Term 3 will see a strong whole‑school focus on mental health, connection and care, as we participate in two significant national initiatives: R U OK? Day and Youth Mental Health Week. These events provide valuable opportunities for our community to pause, reflect and strengthen the ways we support ourselves and one another.
Throughout the term, students will engage in activities, discussions and learning experiences that build emotional awareness, encourage help‑seeking, and promote the everyday habits that contribute to positive mental health. This work aligns closely with our ongoing partnership with The Resilience Project, reinforcing the importance of gratitude, empathy, mindfulness and meaningful connection.
As a College, we are committed to nurturing a culture where every young person feels seen, supported and empowered to speak up when things feel difficult. Our Term 3 initiatives will highlight the message that caring for our mental health is not a one‑day event but a shared responsibility we carry throughout the year.
We look forward to working together—students, staff and families—to continue building a community where wellbeing is prioritised, conversations are encouraged, and every student knows they are valued.
A reminder to all families that the St Aloysius College sports uniform is a compulsory part of the school uniform and must be worn exactly as outlined in our College expectations. On designated sport days, students are required to wear the full and correct sports uniform, including the College tracksuit when needed.
Alternate tracksuits, hoodies, branded jumpers or non‑College sportswear are not permitted at school under any circumstances. These items do not meet our uniform standards and should not be worn to or from the College, or substituted for any part of the official uniform. The only exception to this is the Year 12 Jersey which may be worn by Year 12 on Thursdays, Fridays and for term 3.
Maintaining consistency in uniform helps promote pride, belonging and a strong sense of community. We appreciate the support of parents and carers in ensuring students arrive each day dressed in the correct College attire.
