Week 11 Exam Block

As we move toward the Week 11 Exam Block, students and families are reminded that all notifications are linked directly to the assessment schedule on Compass. Please ensure you have checked the schedule carefully and are aware of the requirements for each subject.

Monday, 29 June is the day before the assessment block begins. In line with the College Assessment Policy, any student who is absent on this day, including those who arrive late or leave early, must provide a Medical Certificate and upload it to the Application for Illness/Misadventure portal on Compass.

To support a smooth and stress‑free exam period:

  • Morning arrival — Please arrive with plenty of time to allow for parking delays and a moment to settle. We will rally for exams at 8:30am (morning sessions) and 12:15pm (afternoon sessions). A few students cut it too fine last time; let’s avoid that this term.
  • Pack equipment — Pack everything you need the night before. If you have a physical hand‑in, place it with your car keys or phone so it cannot be forgotten.
  • Illness procedures — If you are unwell on the day of an exam, please call the College and leave a message for Mrs Slater. You must also complete the Illness/Misadventure application and upload all supporting documentation. Check your emails regularly — where possible, exams will be rescheduled within the block.
  • Study spaces — The library is open for quiet study before and after exams, and on your days off.

It has been a long and productive term, and we want every student to enter the exam block feeling organised, calm, and confident.

Exam Preparation

With just a short time left before exams begin, students should now be shifting into purposeful revision. Effective preparation includes:

  • Active study — summarising notes, practising past papers, and teaching concepts aloud.
  • Planning your time — using the assessment schedule to map out revision sessions for each subject.
  • Asking questions — checking in with teachers during class or via email for clarification.
  • Wellbeing habits — sleep, hydration, movement, and short breaks all support focus and memory.

Small, consistent efforts over the next fortnight will make a significant difference.

Leadership Opportunities for 2027

Next term, we begin the process of selecting our 2027 School Leaders. This is an exciting moment for Year 11 as students step further into their senior identity.

Leadership at our College is not only about wearing a badge — it is about everyday actions that shape our community. We encourage all students to consider:

  • Formal leadership — roles such as College Captains and House Captains.
  • Everyday leadership — showing initiative, supporting peers, modelling respect, and contributing positively to the culture of the year group.
  • Courage to step forward — even if you’re unsure, applying for leadership is a valuable experience in itself.

We look forward to seeing many students put themselves forward and share their vision for the College.

Looking Ahead

As we approach the end of what has been a big 11‑week term, we wish all families a safe, restful, and well‑deserved break when the holidays arrive. Thank you for your ongoing support of our Year 11 students. Their growth, maturity, and commitment have been evident throughout the term.
