Year 2

Year Two Learning!

The learning in Year Two over the past fortnight has been amazing! Our classes have learnt lots of new and exciting things, aswell as produced a huge amount of wonderful work!

Mathematics

In Mathematics we have been learning all about groups of numbers and arrays.

Art

In Art we have been learning about warm and cool colours. We created these amazing sunsets using these colours. We added wool to our suns to make them pop!

Religion

In Religion we read the story "God of Freedom" in our To Know, Worship and Love books. We wrote chants and songs of praise in response to this story.  Here are some of our chants:

Jesus is the saviour, 

He follows Gods' way. 

He saved the Israelites from slavery

and crossed the Red Sea.

Praise God Forever

Thank you for saving the Israelites from slavery

Your power is so strong

like a big powerful gong

you give us light

that is so bright 

and that's how we end the song

In our classes, we also had to write some sentences about what reminded us of Jesus. These are some of our fabulous responses. 

English

In English we have been learning all about Fables. 2 Yellow wrote their own fables and have published these into a class book. It is very exciting to read our own stories during SQUIRT (Super Quiet UnInterrupted Reading Time).
