Learning in Kindergarten

Literacy is integrated in every Key Learning Area at Catherine McAuley. Kindergarten students participate in Literacy groups as part of their morning routine. Students engage in activities such as reading with the teacher, small group activities and writing. During Mathematics students learn through hands-on experiences and working with others. Kindergarten Retreat Day–"Keep Me as the Apple of Your Eye"

Our Kindergarten Retreat Day, "Keep Me as the Apple of Your Eye", invited our youngest learners to experience God’s deep love and care through prayer, story, song, and creative activities. Inspired by Psalm 17:8, the day gently taught the children that they are precious and loved in God's eyes. Through hands-on learning, reflective play, and quiet moments, students grew in their understanding of how to see themselves and others through the lens of kindness, compassion, and faith. It was a joyful day of spiritual connection, belonging, and wonder!
