Grade Prep/1

Welcome Back!
Over the past three weeks, our classroom has been buzzing with wonderful learning experiences and celebrations.
In Reading, we explored the significance of NAIDOC Week, taking time to learn about and appreciate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and achievements. We also enjoyed the much-loved story The Very Cranky Bear, which sparked great discussions about emotions and friendship.
In Writing, we have been diving into persuasive writing. The students are learning how to share their opinions and convince others using strong reasons and persuasive language – a fun new challenge!
In Mathematics, our focus has been on patterns. Prep students have been busy identifying and creating colour and movement patterns, while Year 1 students extended this learning to include skip counting to build number sense.
In Science, we have been exploring pushes and pulls, investigating how different forces can make objects move in different ways.
In Humanities, we have started our topic on Family, sharing stories and learning about how families come in many shapes and sizes but all share love and support.
A special highlight was last Wednesday, when we celebrated 100 Days of Prep! It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and having fun marking this special milestone together.
It’s been an exciting few weeks full of learning and memories!
