What’s Happening in Wellbeing – Term 3
Welcome back to school! We hope you all had a wonderful break over the holidays.
At Le Page PS, we believe it’s just as important to prevent challenges as it is to intervene when challenges arise. Even if there’s no reason for your child to need extra support right now, learning about emotions, friendships, and resilience helps them build skills they can use as they grow. These programs give students the tools and confidence to handle life’s ups and downs – now and in the future.
Here’s what’s happening in Wellbeing this term:
Foundation – Play-Based Social Skills Group
Our Foundation students are learning about friendships and working together through stories, art, and fun games. These sessions help build confidence and make social learning enjoyable.
Years 1 & 2 – Peaceful Kids
This mindfulness and positive psychology program helps students develop calming strategies, build resilience, and feel more confident in managing their emotions.
Years 3 & 4 – Group Art Therapy
Students explore their feelings through art while learning about teamwork, problem-solving, and building positive friendships in a safe, creative space.
Years 5 & 6 – Chicken Coop Mosaic Project
Our senior students are coming together to create a colourful mosaic for the school’s chicken coop. This project helps build communication and teamwork skills while leaving a lasting mark on our school community.
1:1 Wellbeing support
For students who need a little extra support, we also offer individual sessions. These may include art therapy, mindfulness activities, or simply a quiet space for reflection and a chat. These sessions provide students with a safe place to process their feelings, build confidence, and develop strategies to help them feel settled and supported at school.
We’re excited to see students learning, connecting, and having fun as they build important skills for life!
Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions regarding wellbeing practices at Le Page PS.
Have a great week!
