Term 3 - Week 2

A message from the teachers

It has been a busy and positive start to semester 2 in 5/6. All of the teachers have been pleased with the rejuvenated and positive attitude the students have come back from holidays with, (even if they didn’t want to come back,) and everyone has dived back into their learning.

To start this term we have been engaged in Le Page’s new GameAware program, a course designed to help our young gamers understand why and how they game and the potential problems this causes. From the course:

“One purpose of this unit is to help improve the conversation between gamers and non gamers because of the massive knowledge gap between them. For example, having the right language to explain your passion for gaming to your parents is essential to help them see what you see. Our mission is to bridge the knowledge gap between gamers, parents, schools and mental health professionals so that we can minimise the harms and maximise the benefits that we see in the gaming community.”

An ‘experiment’ has been sent home with each student for you all to complete as a family.
