Counselling

This will be my last Newsletter article. I am retiring at the end of this Term.
In my 10 years at St John’s, it has been a privilege to meet some very brave and resilient young people and their families. Access to learning is the most important protective factor in ensuring good outcomes across all spheres of Wellbeing.
These are good mental health, good physical health, good social health, good financial health and good spiritual health.
Our role here in Wellbeing is to support the students’ access to their learning. This has involved numerous varied interventions, meetings, and conversations with students, families, St John’s staff, external supports, and others. My training as a Mental Health Nurse and Family Therapist has dramatically helped me understand the complexities of the barriers to learning that some young people face. But be assured that the staff at St John’s are excellent in considering each student as an individual with individual needs.
Your children are in good hands.
So, bye and God bless from me.
