2025 got off to a great start, with the VET kids kicking off their school year last Thursday, followed by Year 9 students on Friday (Charlton & Donald), Monday (Boort, Pyramid Hill & Wycheproof) & today (St. Arnaud & Wedderburn).
This year, we see an increased number of students enrol at the NCTTC from across the cluster, which is fantastic! At present, we have 167 students from nine different schools undertaking VET certificates & 113 Year 9 students from seven schools engaging with our Vic Curriculum Technology program.
For the first time, we welcome VET students from Tyrrell College in Sea Lake. Welcome!
We have a staggered start to the VET program this year, due to different RTO (Registered Training Organisations) starting dates. A majority of the subjects started on Thursday 30th January, with the remaining two to commence this week & next.
Thursday 30th January: VET Agriculture, Allied Health, Animal Care, Beauty Services, Building & Construction, Community Services, Cookery, Engineering Studies & Sport, Aquatics & Recreation
Thursday 6th February: VET Salon Assistant
Thursday 13th February: VET Automotive
On Thursday, as a precursor to their Certificate III in Allied Health studies, the Allied Health class spent the day working with Sarah Gallagher. Sarah is an Allied Health Clinical Educator & the Project Lead for the Strengthening Our Allied Health Recruitment & Retention (SOAR) Project. The students critiqued allied health career information resources, made recommendations for future resources & gained a greater understanding of the role of allied health & the careers available in our local community. We thank Sarah for working with the class & providing our students with new insight & knowledge.
Students undertaking Building & Construction & Engineering have been given enrolment information which must be signed by a parent/guardian. Can students remember to return the paperwork to Mr Edwards or Mr Moloney this week please.
