Charlton College have welcomed eight new Foundation students! The have settled into school beautifully and have already enjoyed lots of learning experiences in the classroom and around the school. During literacy lessons, they have learnt the letters and sounds for ‘s’, ‘a’, ‘t’ and ‘p’, and are beginning to blend these sounds together to read words! In numeracy, they are learning about patterns, and how to build and break apart the numbers up to five. Their structured lessons are punctuated by plenty of ‘free play’ as the Foundation students make the transition to school. Their teacher, Lizzie, is so proud of everything they’ve achieved in their first few days!

Tilly – “I love the class and Monty”

Olive – “I like playing with lots of babies in the home corner”

Tully – “Because I’m big I go to school”

Charlie – “I like school because I like making creations at the craft table”

Chloe – “I love playing on the playground and doing art and craft”

Leo – “I like playing and colouring and drawing”

Harry – “I know about ‘ssss’ and I know how to write it”

Lailah – “I like the mermaids in the water”

Charlton College are lucky enough to have four new staff members.

Megan has relocated from Melbourne and is 6 months away from finishing her teaching degree. Megan will be working with students in both Primary and Secondary classrooms as a Teacher Aide.

Ebony is a very familiar face to us at the College as last year she was one of our Year 12 students! Ebony is using her first year out of school to assist our students as a Teacher Aide, they will be able to follow her example of being an excellent student.

Declan is one of our new Teachers, and has relocated from Queensland, and is a big fan of the Richmond Football Club. Declan will be working over both Primary and Secondary areas teaching Maths, Science & PE.

Claire is another new teacher who has also relocated from Queensland – excited to live the country life! Clair will be teaching our Secondary students English, VM Literacy and Accounting.

We look forward to working with them!
