Message from the Assistant Principal

Mitch Coombs

Welcome to Term 4!

We’re off to a fantastic start to Term 4, with plenty happening across the school already. A warm welcome to our six new staff members who have joined our team this term — we’re thrilled to have them on board and look forward to the positive contributions they’ll make to our school community.

Joining us are:

  • Amrita Devi, teacher of Maths (Years 7-11)
  • Molli Johns, Learning Support Assistant (P-12)
  • Aman Kumar, teacher of Maths and Science (Years 9-12)
  • Georgia Ross (who started late Term 3), Learning Support Assistant (P-12)
  • Emily Sawyer, Learning Support Assistant (P-12)

We also welcome back:

  • Ria Boutcher, teacher of Science (Years 9-10)
  • Erin Cottrell, administration team

Term 4 is massive for our Year 12 students who are entering an important period as they prepare for their final exams. We wish them all the very best for this next stage — their hard work and commitment throughout the year has been outstanding and I am sure their results will reflect the effort put in.

As we prepare for next year, the 2026 School Captains selection process is also well underway. Our 2026 Year 12 applicants recently presented their speeches, with the successful candidates to be announced at assembly on Friday 24th October. Soon, our Year 6 students will also have the opportunity to take part in their own leadership selection process — an exciting time for all involved.

Across the school, there’s been a wonderful variety of activities and excursions taking place. Our Bike Education program is in full flight, with students enjoying the chance to build their riding confidence and road safety skills in a fun and engaging way.

The Year 3–4 Camp at Billabong Ranch was a also great success, filled with challenges, teamwork, and plenty of fun. Meanwhile, our Year 1–2 students had an amazing time on their Twisted Science and Paddle Steamer excursion, combining hands-on learning with local history and discovery.

It’s also been a busy time for sport! Congratulations to all who represented the school at the LMR Athletics — a fantastic achievement at such a high level of competition. Our Year 5–6 Summer Sports day provided students with the opportunity to try new activities and showcase their teamwork and sportsmanship. On top of that, the Year 5–6 Jets Gymnastics excursion was another highlight, giving students a chance to develop new physical skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Finally, our Get Active Before School program continues to be a great success. It’s wonderful to see so many students starting their day with movement, energy, and smiles.

It’s shaping up to be another busy and rewarding term — thank you to our staff, students, and families for your ongoing support in making our school such a vibrant and connected community.
