Term 4 Newsletter
We had a wonderful Term 3, with plenty of sporting highlights across the school. Some of our Year 3-6 students participated in Hoop Time for the first time in several years, showing great teamwork and enthusiasm. We also enjoyed a successful District Athletics carnival and a fantastic whole school swimming program, with students developing both skills and confidence in the water.
Division Athletics
Congratulations to Hugh B (4A) who competed in High Jump at Division Athletics last week. Hugh came 9th out of 19, which is a super effort.
Year 5&6 Mixed Hoop Time team are into the State Finals
Today the Year 5 & 6 Mixed Future Stars Basketball Team participated in their Hoop Time Regional Finals over at Kilsyth Stadium. They got off to a slow start, losing their first game but rallied hard to come back and win the remainder of their games. They now have the chance to represent GRPS at the State Finals in December which is an incredible acheivment. Congratulations to Oscar D, Nate I, Lenny P, Maxwell H, Logan E, Kyuss B, Grayson F, Heath J & Artin S.
A huge thankyou as well to the parents who attended, for transporting the team and special thanks to Mr. G who has coached and led the boys through this competition.
In the Classroom
During PE lessons:
- Preps to Year 2 will continue to build their fundamental motor skills, including catching, throwing, striking and bouncing. Year 2 students learnt some new fun games that they enjoyed playing during their ‘Camp In’ experience.
Years 3–6 will be learning Badminton, Golf and Ultimate Frisbee, helping them develop new skills and teamwork.
Friday Morning Sport
Students in Years 4 and 5 will have the chance to try some of the sports they’ll be playing in next year’s interschool competitions. This is a great way to prepare and build their confidence for 2026.
We’re looking forward to a fun and active Term 4 with plenty of opportunities for all students to shine!
