LOTE

Selamat kembali, anak-anak (Welcome back, children)!
It was wonderful to see everyone back to school and continue learning Indonesian with Ibu Sia. During Week 1 of Term 4, which was also Production Week, students had fun playing congklak. They really enjoyed the game and are becoming more skilled at playing this traditional Indonesian board game. Bagus sekali, anak-anak!
Prep to Grade 3
At the start of Term 4, we began exploring vocabulary related to family members in Indonesian. Not only did we expand our Indonesian word bank, but we also compared how family terms differ between English and Indonesian. Students took notes in their Indonesian books and played fun translation games to reinforce their learning. Keep up the great work, learners!
Grade 4 to Grade 6
Grade 4 and Grade 6 students have been learning Indonesian vocabulary related to family members—both immediate and extended—as well as pets as part of their families. They retained their learning using a variety of visual formats in their books. With support and scaffolding, students began planning and writing a short piece in Indonesian to introduce their own family members. In the coming weeks, learners will record themselves presenting their family in Indonesian on Seesaw. Bagus sekali, anak-anak!
