The Arts

Creative Arts Exhibition

Another year done and dusted, and what a great exhibition it was! With over 500 works included this year, across the Technologies learning area and the Arts learning area, there was plenty of ink, paint, fabric, metal, plastic, code, cake, wood, resin, wool and so much more to admire. The XPAC foyer was packed full of parents, friends, staff and students for the opening last Tuesday evening, 16th September. Our guest judge, Okeano, a class of 2020 graduate Patrick Osias, was very impressed with the student talent on display, and spoke of his own creative journey at the College, inspiring the students to always keep creating, in whatever medium they choose.

My personal thanks to my colleagues, the hard-working teaching and non-teaching staff who put in countless hours in the lead up to this exhibition, preparing the student work beforehand, and then working on the final display to show it off at its best. Thank you.

SoNiC 2025

A massive thank you to everyone that attended SoNiC Music Fest last Friday at Vision Studios. Such an energetic night full of good tunes and awesome performances! Congratulations to our Certificate III in Music bands Reconnected and Gamble on a Setlist for their entertaining sets, as well as our special guest bands Inertia, Red40 and The Dollz for opening the night. These gigs are great for giving our music students a taste of performing in a live music venue to a crowd, and the smiles and fun that was had throughout the night made for such a fun atmosphere to be a part of. Special thanks go to Ms Tania Harvey, Mrs Karen Cassidy, Mrs Kathryn Crocker, Miss Carrol Abel and Mrs Tracey La Vanda for their help in supervising the evening, and a big thank you to John at Vision Studios for his stage and sound assistance.

Dance Night Brilliance

A HUGE congratulations to Kathryn (Croks) on an outstanding showcase of the dance talent here at the College.  Dance Night highlighted the skills, passion and camaraderie amongst our dancers – each dance captivated the audience with creativity, colour and dynamic movement.  It was an impressive collection of choreography.

Further to this Kat is to be congratulated for her choreography and workshopping with the Senior Dance Team on their work titled ` Hive Mind’ – this is the recipient of a Catholic Performing Arts Shield: `Catholic Secondary Principal’s Award’ for the Senior Dance Category.

It has been quite the buzz around the Arts centre.  A very special thanks and appreciation is extended to the following staff for their time and support of the Dance program:

  • Miss Kelsey Zampino

  • Mr Luke Di Labio

  • Ms Tania Harvey

  • Ms Jamie Paulin

  • Mrs Merryl Byfield

  • Ms Liz Anderson

  • Mrs Jo Fuda

  • Ms Linda Gillham

  • Mrs Tracey La Vanda

  • Ms Anna Garton

An event like this cannot happen without a solid team, highlighting once more the strong sense of community at the College.
