Year 12 Last Day
On their final day of school last Friday, our Year 12 students got creative with decorating the school for everyone to enjoy upon arrival in the morning.
We also celebrated their achievements and said farewell with a Graduation Ceremony and Valedictory Dinner. Congratulations and best wishes to the Class of 2025!
VCE Psychology - NGV Excursion
VCE Psychology students spent a day in Melbourne last week to participate in the NGV visual perception VCE tour.
This tour was with an NGV educator who assisted students in exploring the elements of visual perception, Gestalt principles and pictorial depth cues that artists use in their work.
Students then went on to experience the visual illusions of Art Vo, taking many entertaining photographs that examined how artistic techniques change our perception of depth, distance and spatial relationships.

VCE Biology - Melbourne Zoo Excursion
On Friday 11 October, our VCE Biology students visited the Melbourne Zoo to see their classroom learning come to life. The excursion provided an engaging opportunity for students to explore biological concepts in real-world contexts.
Year 11 – Unit 2 Biology
Our Year 11 students focused on studying structural, physiological, and behavioural adaptations, as well as the interdependencies between species. Highlights of the day included observing a variety of animals and discussing how their unique adaptations help them survive in the wild. The students were particularly excited to see the Regent Honeyeaters, the bird featured in their recent SAC, bringing their studies directly into view.
Year 12 – Unit 4 Biology
For our Year 12 students, the focus was on human and primate evolution. The visit allowed students to observe primate behaviour and consider evolutionary adaptations firsthand, deepening their understanding of the concepts discussed in class.
The Melbourne Zoo continues to provide an invaluable resource for experiential learning, allowing students to connect theory with observation and fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

VCE VM - Coast FM Excursion
On Monday 13th of October, our VCE VM Work Related Skills class travelled to Coast FM to take a tour of the facility and discover more about the radio and journalism fields.
We were privileged to be led around the complex by Lachi Rooke who introduced us to the CEO, the sales team, and showed us the ins and outs of the different recording studios.
This was the final industry visit for our Year 12 students after attending more than 20 different organisations over the last two years.

Year 8
French
Last week in French, our Year 8 students had the opportunity to taste some traditional French foods, including the famous "Escargots" (garlic butter snails)!
There were a mix of reactions, from brave volunteers giving them a go to others who preferred to watch and cheer on their classmates.
It was a fun and memorable way to experience a little slice of French culture and explore the adventurous side of French cuisine!
Food Tech
Last week in Food Tech, the Year 8 boys made delicious stir-fries!
We discussed how versatile this dish can be, you can use a variety of meats, plenty of colourful veggies, and experiment with different sauce combinations.
No matter what ingredients you choose, you always seem to end up with a winning flavour combination!
