From the Head of Senior School

Mr Trent Chapman, Executive Director - Head of Senior School

Welcome to Term 4. We hope all families have enjoyed a restful and refreshing break, and that our students return with enthusiasm for the term ahead. As we enter the final stretch of the academic year, we look forward to a productive and positive term across all year levels.

Celebrating Term 3 Highlights

We concluded Term 3 on a high note, and I’d like to acknowledge the efforts of our students:

  • Year 12: Thank you for the mature and spirited way you finished your final term. Your leadership has left a lasting impression on our school community. Best wishes for the upcoming HSC exams.
  • Year 11: Well done for coordinating the House Year 12 Farewell lunches. These events were a wonderful celebration of connection and school spirit.
  • Years 7–10: Congratulations on your enthusiastic participation in the House Winter Sports Day. The energy and teamwork on display were outstanding.

Term 4 Reminders

Please take note of the following expectations:

  • Uniforms must be correct and worn to a high standard.
  • Personal appearance must align with school policy:
    • No jewellery (except one set of plain earrings)
    • Neat haircuts
    • Clean-shaven appearance for young men
    • School blazers are required for Assemblies, Chapel services, and formal events.
    • Hats are mandatory: KWS hats must be worn to/from school, during recess/lunch outdoors, and all outdoor PE/sports sessions.
    • Please see the KWS Uniform Policy for full uniform guidelines
  • Summer Co-curricular programs begin Week 1. Students should check the Hub for activity details and schedules.

Positive Behaviour & Pastoral Care Updates

We continue to enhance our Positive Behaviour Policy and communication via the Hub:

  • Green Level Restorative Conversations will now be visible on the student’s Pastoral Care page.
  • These are not formal punishments, but records of restorative dialogue.
  • Parents are encouraged to follow up with their child for context.
  • Higher Level consequences will still be communicated directly by Head Mentors, Heads of Department, or Senior Leaders.

Attendance Monitoring

We are introducing SMS alerts for unexplained absences:

  • Parents will receive notifications if a student is absent without explanation.
  • Please use the Hub app to notify the school of absences before the school day begins.
