Junior Hockey 2025

This year, our primary school hockey teams—the Mavericks, the Brumbies, and Thunder—showcased outstanding growth, determination, and enthusiasm both on and off the field. The season was filled with teamwork, skill-building, and plenty of memorable moments that strengthened players’ confidence and passion for the game.

Teamwork and Progression

From the very beginning, each team displayed a strong commitment to working together. Players quickly recognised the importance of communication and collaboration, and as the weeks unfolded, their progress was clear. Dribbling, passing, and shooting improved significantly, while defensive skills and game sense became more refined. Students learned to read the play more strategically, positioning themselves thoughtfully and supporting their teammates at every turn.

Monday Training Sessions

Training sessions on Monday afternoons remained at the heart of our hockey development. These sessions provided opportunities to consolidate skills, strengthen teamwork, and practice game strategies in a supportive environment. Guided by our dedicated coaches - Mrs Essex (Mavericks), Mrs Fatai and Ms Caro (Brumbies), and Miss Hazelton (Thunder) - players were encouraged to give their best, celebrate improvement, and enjoy the challenge of learning together. We thank our coaches for their enthusiasm, expertise, and encouragement throughout the season.

Season Highlights

All teams enjoyed a rewarding season, with many new players embracing hockey for the first time. A standout highlight was Thunder’s incredible achievement of finishing the season undefeated. Sadly the grand final however, proved to be a thrilling and tough match, resulting in a loss of the 2025 Hockey Grand Final.

A Season to Celebrate

As the season concludes, we celebrate the progress, sportsmanship, and resilience shown by all our players. Every student contributed to their team’s success and built skills that will serve them well into the future—both on the hockey field and beyond.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the parents and supporters who cheered from the sidelines and assisted throughout the season. Congratulations to the Mavericks, the Brumbies, and Thunder on a fantastic 2025 hockey season—we look forward to seeing what you achieve next year!
