ECO Captains Success!
Dear Parents and Carers,
Last year the ECO Captains wrote letters to nurseries and Bunnings asking for donations of plants. Recently, Ms Seymour received some donations from Bunnings. There are enough plants for every classroom! Our classrooms will now be calm and have therapeutic plants in the classrooms to help kids relax while working. We thank the Box Hill Bunnings for giving a generous donation.

Last year, the ECO Captains looked into how having plants in the classroom benefited students and their well-being. There has been evidence to show that plants help us by decreasing our stress and anxiety as well as increasing our creativity. Plants freshen the air quality and remove toxins from the air. Here at Robbie Mac, we like to raise awareness of environmental consciousness and this is one way to bring the outdoors into our fabulous learning spaces.
I would like to thank the ’24 Eco Captains for taking the time to write the letters. It will now be the ’24 Eco Captains who will take on the responsibility of finding out how best to look after their given plants.
Lastly, I would like to thank Bunnings Box Hill for providing this generous donation. We always encourage our students to use ‘Student Voice’ and express their thoughts and opinions. It is fabulous to know they were listened to!
