FESTIVAL OF BIG IDEAS

IDEAS EXTRAVAGANZA

Today we had an ideas extravaganza for all Year 7 - 9 students.  The day was action filled including keynote speaker Nadine Champion.  Nadine is an inspiring speaker, author and martial artist.  She passed on lessons learnt from years of elite performance and about overcoming obstacles to reach her potential.

Federation University presented "Engineer your future - Bridge Building" which is designed to ignite passion for innovation and collaboration.

Lunch was generously provided by the Korumburra Lions Club.  Students enjoyed sausage in bread and a prima drink.

After lunch, students listened to a presentation on The Human Rights Game, based on the United Nations 30 Articles. The board game teaches young people about their rights, freedoms and responsibilities.  The game challenges people with real world societal problems and how to make better choices in a rapidly changing world.

Other activities during the day included Power Pops which is VR technology offering an immersive experience of what a new energy will look like in our region.  Also, representatives from Mine Land Rehabilitation Authority were giving students the opportunity to plant their own seed and take it home with them.

KSC would like to thank everybody who was involved in today's event and for giving our students the opportunity to experience the Festival of Big Ideas.
