Supporting Our Schools Fundraising Programs!
As we approach the end of the term and look forward to the exciting events planned for Terms 3 and 4, we remind you to refer to the attached fundraising calendar for Semester Two. Your participation in these initiatives fosters fun and unity within our school community and supports meaningful projects, charities, and our international school partnerships. Here’s a rundown of what’s ahead. Remember, it’s a gold coin donation for each event!
Term Two:
End of Term Free Dress - Friday, June 28th
Next Friday, June 28th, leave your school uniform at home and embrace the freedom of Free Dress Day! This event supports the development of the new Year 6 area, enhancing the learning and play environment for our senior students for many years to come.
Term Three:
Sports Uniform and Colours Day - Friday, August 2nd
Show your team spirit by wearing your sports uniform or your favourite sports team’s colours. This vibrant day supports our sponsored international child, Charlotte from Zimbabwe, through World Vision.
Funky Feet Day - Friday, August 30th
Step out in style with your funkiest socks and shoes! This day is dedicated to our sister school, Jhapa Model English Language School in Nepal. Let’s put our best foot forward in supporting global education.
Book Drive - September 17th and 18th
Clean out those bookshelves and bring in gently used books for our Book Drive. Proceeds will go towards developing the new Year 6 area, providing more resources for our students. Stay tuned for further information early in Term 3.
End of Term Free Dress - Friday, September 20th
Once again, enjoy a day of Free Dress to wrap up the term, supporting ongoing projects to improve our school facilities for all students.
Additional On-Going Fundraising Reminders
Pancake Parlour Program
Don't forget, our school is part of the Pancake Parlour Rewards Program! When dining at any Pancake Parlour location, please download their app, join our school from the school list and scan in-store to start earning points for GWPS. The more points we earn the higher our school ranking, giving us the chance to win the grand prize of $5000 at the end of the year. We are close to reaching 1000 points and earning $100 worth of complimentary vouchers to continue to reward our end of term Principal Learning Awards recipients. Glen Waverley Primary School is currently sitting on 650 points and 3rd overall ranking, so visit your nearest Pancake Parlour restaurant with your friends and family and help us reach this great milestone together.
Container Deposit Scheme
Keep up the great work with the Container Deposit Scheme! Continue collecting eligible plastic bottles, cans, and drink cartons, and drop them off in the blue bins outside the science shed. Each container helps raise funds for our school while promoting environmental responsibility. To date, we have successfully recycled 999 items and raised $99.00 for our school. Let's keep up the great work.
