Captains Corner

I can’t believe it! We are already coming towards the end of the term. We are currently in Week 10 and after next week is the holidays. As always, the last two weeks have been nothing short of remarkable. Among amazing learning from the students of GWPS to fun activities inside and outside of the classroom.

On Thursday 13th of June, the outstanding 18 mass dancers proudly represented our school at one of their local hub rehearsals at Oakleigh South Primary School. From the performance at the recent assembly we can clearly see that they are putting in their best efforts and are having a great time. It is amazing how they flawlessly remember all those moves and confidently preform. Keep up the fantastic dancing because VSSS is just a few months away.

On Friday 14th of June, we had a sport dress up fundraiser raising an amazing $445.50 because Krisha has made it to the Victorian team for indoor cricket. This will help Krisha and her family a lot. We look forward to following her journey, with a potential final coming in September. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement, Krisha!

On Tuesday 18th of June our Year Five and Sixes are participating in the Maths Games and the Maths Olympiad. I wish everyone the best of luck and high results.

On Thursday 20th of June, the Years Three and Four will be participating in basketball Hooptime against other local schools and the following Monday, 24th of June the Years Five and Six will participate in Hooptime as well. I wish all participants from Years Three to Six good luck and have a great time on the court.

On Friday 28th of June our Year 6 AFL team will be participating in the finals representing our school as they play against other local schools. So far this term AFL has been doing exceptionally well, so I wish them luck for the finals and hope they have a great experience.

Once again, these past weeks have been filled with excitement, and we look forward to more enjoyable events after the holidays.

Thank you for reading this issue of the newsletter, hope you have a great three weeks ahead of you and a wonderful holiday.

Yours sincerely,

Vinudi - 2024 school vice-captain.
