2024 The School for Student Leadership

The School for Student Leadership was and forever will be a highlight of our high school experience. We spent 9 weeks at the Gnurad Gundidj Campus during term 2. Our classes weren’t the stereotypical subjects like we do at Belmont, but more life lessons and personal growth classes. Learning about ourselves has allowed us to become more independent, better leaders, and have taught us to shape our future towards success. We had 8 schools in total attend the term 2 2024 program from all across Victoria.

Apart from lessons, we did a lot of different things. Our highlights include Expedition One and Two, Canoeing, and many other opportunities like working in committees and on our Community Learning Project. For Expedition One, we walked 24km through the Great Ocean Walk, and 36km through Budj Bim National Park for Expedition Two. One of my favorite things we did was the Bush Dance. It was incredible to see everyone having a go at the dances, and just overall having a good time full of laughter with our friends. 

The memories and relationships we have made at this school will forever be with us, and cannot be replaced. It was incredible working with like-minded people who have a common goal of bettering themselves, and developing the skills required to become the person they want to be.
