 Term 3

Semester 2 Individual Education Plans

This week the Semester 2 Individual Education Plans (IEPs) will be available on Compass. Included in the IEP are current entry skills and the related goals. You will also notice individualised strategies and adjustments that will support goal learning in the classroom. You can access the Semester 2 IEPs via Compass under your child’s profile picture:

Discovery Centre: The Physical World

In line with this semester's Discovery learning about the ‘Physical World’, the MILE room in the Discovery Centre has been hit by extreme weather! When students step into the MILE Room, they will experience two extreme weather scenarios that are becoming more and more frequent in Australia – bushfires and floods. Students can observe a once lush rainforest that is now dry and ablaze with fire and smoke. Opposite the bushfire, a flood rushes by destroying properties in its wake. Students can sit beneath a storm cloud on comfy bean bags or relax within small sections of forest greenery to regulate, refocus and reset.

Book Week

Children’s Book Council of Australia’s national event is Children’s Book Week®. This year the official week is from 17 August – 23 August with the theme ‘Reading Is Magic’.

On Tuesday 20th August we are encouraging all staff and students, from both primary and secondary, to dress up as their favourite character from a book, movie or series.

We are looking forward to seeing many creative costumes across the school! (Please make sure all costumes are appropriate for school and are suitable for all ages).
