NBC Alumni

We at NBC Ourschool Alumni are continually impressed and proud of our alumni and what they have gone onto achieve, and we love having them back into school to help inspire the next generation.

Young Alumni Board – Friday March 8

Taking our enthusiastic and engaged young alumni, we’ve enjoyed meeting together to discuss future opportunities and ideas for the Northern Bay College community. 

ANZAC day ceremony - Wed April 24 

NBC’s annual ANZAC Day Ceremony this year featured Naval Captain David Murphy, (Corio North, Corio Snr College alum), as a special guest. 20 students attended the ceremony, which included leaders and school captains across all campuses, and heard from David about his time growing up in Corio and his prestigious military career since.

VM career panels - Fri April 26 / Fri June 7

The VM pathway at school is all about preparing students to enter the world of work as soon as they finish school, through placements, and practical knowledge. 

We have run two alumni VM sessions and have welcomed back, Zachary, Game Development Officer, Will, Apprentice Bricklayer, David, Naval Captain, Mark, Boat Repair Depot Manager, to speak on their industry and advice for those wanting to follow a similar path.

Year 12 VCE Mentor Sessions - Fri May 3 / Fri May 10

We can think of no better mentors for our VCE students than our recent alumni, who are now studying in a variety of different fields. 

Over two Fridays, we bought in 9 different alumni to speak in small groups to our VCE students about the practicalities of ATARs, studying at university, and having a backup plan.

Creative Career Session - Fri May 10

We invited back Clodagh, videographer, Shaylah, freelance artist, and Shae, interior designer, who all credit their teachers in arts subjects during their time at NBC, to speak about working in creative fields. 

The alumni also showcased their portfolios, which gave the students valuable insight into what a career in a creative industry looks like.

Thank you for your support of our alumni program, we feel really privileged to work on this program in Northern Bay College. 

In its most basic form, the alumni program is bringing in ex-students back to their school, but it’s so much more. It grows school and community pride, and gives our current students aspirational, and inspirational role models.
