Tournament of Minds

On Saturday, 30th August, our talented students proudly represented us at the Tournament of Minds Regional Challenge held at Hurlstone Park. Competing across four disciplines — Language Literature, Social Sciences, The Arts and STEM—each team showcased creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.

📚 Language Literature - Lucy, Abby, Jovanna, Quinn, Tess, Georgia, Abigail

Students explored the abstract worlds of Shaun Tan, reimagining one of his stories to reflect deeper societal themes. Their performance highlighted the journey of the main character, the importance of minor characters, and the use of colour and shape to convey mood and meaning.

🌏 Social Sciences - Paxton, Fintan, Flynn, James, Xavier, Orlando, Nate

This team tackled the challenge of designing a new recreational facility for a local community. They evaluated two potential sites, incorporated stakeholder feedback, and presented a thoughtful, inclusive design that addressed environmental, social, and logistical factors.

🔬 STEM - Lana, Harry, Liam, Jack, Duke, Luca, Ryan

The STEM team investigated the breakdown of Earth’s four spheres—lithosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere. They presented a scientific theory, constructed a symbolic 3D emblem, and proposed a new configuration to represent a stronger, more resilient Earth.

🎨 The Arts - Eva C, Evie, Isabelle, Natalia, Saisha, Avery, Eva S

Our Arts Group was tasked with creating an original artwork inspired by famous artists, exploring the theme of unity. Their piece reflected the interconnectedness of people and ideas, drawing on visual styles and symbolism to communicate a powerful message.

We’re proud to announce that The Arts team received a Merit Award for their outstanding work. Certificates will be distributed once they arrive, we are proud of all of our students!

ICAS Results

Congratulations to our ICAS participants on their results for ICAS English testing.

A special mention to Liam in Year 6 as his results were in the top 1% of participants in the test across Australia. These certificates will be given out when they have arrived.
