Billabong Ranch Excursion
On Friday 5 September, our Preparatory students travelled to Billabong Ranch in Echuca for an exciting farm excursion. The day supported our learning across Science, Technologies, English, and Humanities and Social Sciences, providing rich opportunities to connect classroom learning with real world experiences.
Through hands on interactions with animals, farming activities, and the rural environment, students explored living things, designed spaces and special places in our world. Feeding and observing the animals sparked curiosity and wonder, while time spent around the farm encouraged meaningful communication and collaboration.
The excursion was not only an opportunity to broaden our knowledge but also a chance to build confidence and engage with the world beyond the classroom. Many students were eager to share their favourite moments — from patting the friendly animals to discovering how farms work.
A heartfelt thank you to our teachers and staff who made this memorable day possible — and to our parents for the extra effort of getting the children up early so we could all catch the bus on time!

Renegades Cricket Players Visit
At Girton Grammar we had the wonderful pleasure of having two Renegades cricket players come to our school. It was a good experience for all of us to interview them and learn a little bit about cricket.
The Renegade players that came to the school were Taylor and Jye. We started off with an enjoyable warm-up game called the Jye Challenge. Why? Because he's undefeated.
There were different levels. Level one: throw the ball, clap your hands and catch it. Level 2: clap in front, clap behind and catch, and so on.
By level 5, a handful of kids were left: Chad, Ava, Harper and Dylan.
By the end, we could all totally see why it was called the Jye challenge!
Grades 2 and 4 were glad to able to participate in this special opportunity. We are all very grateful for their visit.
