eyes on VET

Welcome to another edition of Eyes on VET!

Our Year 11 Hospitality classes proudly supported the Student Services team to raise funds for the Wear It Purple organisation. At recess and lunch, the students served up a delicious spread of purple-iced cupcakes with sprinkles, gooey brownies, fresh cookies, and ice cream cones topped with rainbow-coloured sprinkles. The stall was a huge success, attracting a swarm of happy customers and creating a vibrant, supportive atmosphere.

A huge congratulations to all students involved for their hard work and commitment, and a special thank you to our dedicated Hospitality trainers who continually go above and beyond to guide and upskill our budding hospitality professionals.

Many of our Year 10 and 11 VET Connect students have completed their applications for a variety of external courses in 2026 through both TAFE and private Registered Training Organisations. Students are now eagerly waiting to hear the outcomes of their applications, which should be early next term.

I wish all these students all the best for an offer of a place.

Spotlight on the SCSA VET Awards for Outstanding Achievement in VET

I am delighted to share that thirteen of our Year 12 VET students have been nominated for the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) VET Awards. These awards recognise students who demonstrate excellence in their Vocational Education and Training studies.

To be eligible, students must complete a nationally recognised VET qualification (minimum AQF Level II) in one of nine industry areas, as well as at least two unit equivalents of Workplace Learning in a related field. The selection process is highly competitive, requiring student statements, workplace endorsements, and statements of support from the VET Manager.

And here’s the extra exciting news… two of our students have been nominated in not just one, but TWO industry areas, highlighting their exceptional commitment and versatility.

I would like to congratulate all nominated students on this achievement and wish them every success for progression to the next stage: an interview with the VET Awards Selection Panel.

Good luck, superstars!... you’ve already made us proud!  🌟
