NSW Netball Cup Phase 2
On Tuesday 2 September, our Year 6 Netball team travelled to Wagga Wagga with coach Kirby McDonald to compete in Stage 2 of the NSW Netball Cup.
The mixed team of boys and girls gave it their all, starting the day with a close win against St Michael’s Leeton, thanks to some brilliant mid-court play. They went on to record just one loss in the pool matches (against Lockhart), finishing second in their pool.
In the crossover game, Trinity faced Holy Spirit, Lavington, in a fiery contest. With outstanding shooting from Louie Menz and Flynn Mardling, Trinity proved too strong and secured a spot in the Grand Final.
The final saw a rematch with Lockhart. Trinity put up an impressive fight, trailing by just two goals at halftime, but Lockhart’s shooters eventually stretched the margin to seven. Trinity finished as Runners-Up and may still gain a wildcard entry to the State Cup in November, based on past performances.
Special mentions go to Rayne Rampal, who was outstanding in centre all day, and Camden Weddell, named Most Improved for his strong defensive efforts.
NSW CIS Athletics
Last Friday, several of our talented primary athletes travelled to Sydney to compete at the CIS Primary Athletics Championships, proudly representing Trinity.
Alexis Pritchard had a standout meet, claiming the silver medal in the 11 Years Girls Long Jump. She also placed 10th in the 100m, 6th in the 800m, and 5th in the 200m. Alexis’ silver medal performance has earned her qualification for the NSWPSSA Championships in Sydney on 22–23 October, where she will compete in Long Jump.
Congratulations to all of our Trinity athletes on their efforts and achievements at this prestigious event!
