Wellbeing Update

That's a wrap on the Bunji Program!
Last Friday, our Year 8 students completed their final Bunji session for the year. We explored the important topic of peer pressure—how to recognise it, how to respond, and where to turn for support. Every student engaged thoughtfully, and several showed real bravery by sharing their own experiences. Their honesty was inspiring.
We took a well-earned brain break with games and movement activities—fun for all, even if learning new tricks proved challenging for me at times! Thank you to the students for your encouragement and laughter along the way.
Throughout the session, students connected in different ways—some used kinetic sand, others drew, and one student even made bracelets to share with friends. But no matter how they engaged, one thing was clear: they were all present, supportive, and growing together.
Thank you, Year 8, for showing up with openness, care, and courage. You’ve made this space something truly meaningful.
Year 8 Students Build Life Skills at the Shake Workshop
This term, a group of selected Year 8 students had the opportunity to take part in the Shake Workshop (Shake Counselling)—a dynamic program designed to support teens in developing essential life skills and fostering personal and emotional growth.
The workshops focused on key areas such as:
- Emotional regulation and stress management
- Communication and conflict resolution
- Self-esteem and body image
- Goal-setting and decision-making
- Healthy relationships and boundaries
Through interactive activities, group discussions, and hands-on exercises, students gained practical tools and strategies to apply in their everyday lives.
By engaging in the Shake Workshop, participants built confidence, strengthened their self-awareness, and developed important skills to help them navigate the challenges of adolescence and beyond.
Thanks to Jaxsyn, Will and Nick from Shake.
R U Ok? Day
The Wellbeing Team hosted a lively staff morning tea, featuring a fun “Best Dressed” competition. Congratulations to Ms McNamara, Mrs Bailey, Miss Gibson, and Miss Bald for taking out the top honours! Ms McNamara stole the show in an unforgettable, larger than life Pikachu costume setting the bar sky-high for creativity and school spirit.
Adding to the day’s positive energy, a group of Year 12 VM students took the lead at lunchtime, blending up fresh smoothies for R U OK? Day. This thoughtful initiative sparked conversation, encouraged connection, and promoted awareness around the importance of checking in on each other.
These kinds of events are not only fun but play a vital role in supporting mental health and wellbeing in our school community. Moments of connection, creativity, and shared purpose help to build a culture where everyone feels seen, supported, and valued.
