Principal's Report

Dear HPS Community,

It's been a great last week of term 3 here at HPS, with lots of engaging and rewarding things happening.

Our Year 6 cohort provided a delicious hot chocolate opportunity to raise funds that will support their end of year graduation. They were kept very busy preparing around 350 hot chocolates to students who had pre-purchased through Compass. Well done to the teachers, staff and students who coordinated this event.

As a whole school we have been working together to earn Dojo points by demonstrating our school values of Resilience, Respect, Responsibility and Compassion Reward. For reaching the target number, everyone was rewarded with a movie and popcorn afternoon this week! Congratulations to everyone for collectively achieving our goal- we are so proud of you.

Today was a sea of colours with representation of various sports and sporting clubs as we celebrated the Annual HPS Footy Day. The parade this afternoon brought a lot of excitement and passion as everyone cheered on their favourite teams. It was wonderful to see so many parents, carers and family members come along to join in as well.

Good luck to the remaining teams for the AFL and NRL competitions. May the best teams' win!

Thank you to our fabulous staff for their dedication and commitment throughout this term. It is such a pleasure to work with such a collaborative and focused team who prioritises our students wellbeing and learning.

Thanks also to our parents, carers and guardians for their support and assistance in working together for the benefit of our students. We appreciate all your input.

Finally, thank you to our students who continue to show us the growth they make in their learning and as valued members of our school.

Building Works Update

The work on the relocatable buildings is nearing completion and over the holidays the area in front of them will be landscaped ready for use early in term 4 as a newly developed play space.

Over the holidays there will be some ground works done for service connections just inside gate 3, with a new electrical box also being installed.

While gate 3 is anticipated to be accessible for students arriving and departing school as usual, the pathway from Cape St front gate to gate 3 along Darebin St will NOT be accessible at the beginning of term. Students entering from Cape St gate will need to use the path down to the cottage and into top school.

Within the first few weeks of term 4, the bottom school toilets, sports shed and maintenance shed will be demolished in preparation for the new the gym works to start.
