Year 5/6 SACSA Basketball Carnival

On Monday the 23rd of October, 27 Year 5/6 students represented GGLPS at the annual SACSA basketball carnival. The teams, (made up of two boys teams and one girls team) competed well all day and displayed outstanding sportsmanship and determination. 

All three teams were successful and won at least 4 games out of their total of 7 games. Whilst none of the teams made the final, each team represented our school with excellence. The boys teams finished 5th and 7th out of 18 teams, with the girls finishing 7th out of 14 teams. 

A special thanks to parents Adam Pape and Simon Williams for coaching the boys teams, to Mrs Hughes and Mr Gardner for coaching the girls as well as all parents who came to support the teams during the day. 

Year 3/4 SACSA Basketball Carnival

On Wednesday the 26th of October two teams of Year 3/4 boys travelled to the Lights centre for a day filled with blasting basketball action! 

Our two teams played in the spirit of the game all day, with one of our teams remaining undefeated throughout the day. It was a great opportunity for current and new players of basketball to give the sport a go! 

Thankyou to Miss McCusker for organising the day, to Mr Trezona and Mrs Hughes for attending the day, to our parent volunteers and spectators and a very special thanks to Dave for attending and coaching a team for the day.
