Sacrament of Reconciliation

Last Thursday, the Year 3’s attended the Thursday morning parish mass which was followed by the First Reconciliation for the remaining three children who were unable to be present for the whole Year level ceremony earlier in the term. It was nice for the other children to stay and support their friends during this personal and healing Sacrament. A thank you to Fr Frank Buhagiar who stepped in whilst Fr Desmond is on leave.

Advent / Christmas

Although Advent is still a few weeks away (officially beginning on Sunday, December 3), it is necessary for the school to begin looking at this Season of the Catholic Church from next week. As the term quickly disappears, we will focus on this special time of the year culminating in the birth of Jesus at Christmas. Let’s hope you are able to support this season of Advent in your homes as we do at school, for example: an advent wreath, candles (3 purple, 1 pink), Advent calendar, nativity scenes, using words like waiting, preparing, anticipating, arrival.

What Is Advent?

Advent is a four-week season (the four Sundays before Christmas) in the Church calendar dedicated to anticipating the arrival, or "advent," of Jesus of Nazareth, the long-awaited Messiah and King. Christians from many backgrounds celebrate this time with reflections on hope, peace, love, and joy. And while their practices may look different, all focus on the hope-filled arrival of Jesus.
