Staying Safe Online

The internet is part of our everyday lives and is a fantastic place to learn, connect with others and have fun. When you have a good understanding of what the internet can do, you can take steps to keep yourself safe from illegal content and unwanted content that makes you feel upset or unsafe. It's important to be a good digital citizen and behave online just as you do in the rest of your life. With the rise of social media, bullying now occurs online, as well as in person.  Cyberbullying is just as harmful as face-to-face bullying, and online actions can have real life consequences.

Cyberbullying is an increasing issue in the wider community – and the best way to tackle it is for schools, students, and parents to work in partnership.

Check out some of these resources to help you stay safe online and understand the consequences of cyberbullying.
