From the Principal
Hello everyone,
What a fantastic Fiesta we had last Friday!
Firstly, I would like to thank Michelle Laws and her Fiesta committee who pulled together an amazing event in what was a very short period of time (only a few months!). They were a small but dedicated group who worked incredibly hard to give us a night of fun and excitement. Thank you to each and every member of this team and their families for the time given - prior to, at the fiesta, and in the days afterward - the success of the night and the profit to come could not have been achieved without your dedication to the event.
Secondly, thank you to all the parent reps who oversaw class rosters for the night and the parents who volunteered. We appreciate the time taken out of your night to cook sausages, sell cakes, create fairy floss, or pop corn - just to name a few of the many stalls.
We cannot run successful Fiestas without all this support, so a heartfelt thank you to all those who volunteered their time to support our school. We are still tallying the final amount raised but will let you know as soon as we do.
In other news - our toilet block in the PAC is now refurbed and ready for use! It has been a longer than anticipated process but we are very excited at the final product. The students are now able to use these, with the year 5 and 6 students having these as their primary toilets, eliminating the need to walk across the school to the Wicking.
Our Year 4 students went to the Zoo last week and our Year 2 students had their first camp on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Once again a big shout out to the teachers involved for their planning, organisation, and time away from their families to ensure our students have an amazing time. A big thank you also to the parents who accompany our teachers on these outings for taking time out of their busy schedules to support our students with their learning.
Mr Liston also accompanied a group of students to the Eastern Division Regional Athletics carnival. We are very proud of all our students, who represented our school, with special mention to Lucca from Year 5 for making it through to the State Championships in the 100m and 200m events. I am sure you will all join me in wishing him all the best at this next level.
We are also bidding farewell to Trinity our Year 3 and 4 Kitchen expert at the end of the year. If you, or someone you know might be interested in one day a week (Friday) working with our Year 3 and 4 classes running the kitchen element of our kitchen/garden program then please ask them to get in touch with me via the office.
Finally, I am sure you will all join me in acknowledging our fantastic teachers on what is Australia Teachers Day today! We have amazingly dedicated teachers who go above and beyond to create engaging learning activities for our students in a safe and supportive environment. We are incredibly lucky to have such a hard-working and dedicated team.
Till next time.
